Customization
of OpenURL Targets—a New Option with Gold Rush
Gold Rush is an optional premium service that can be used with WilsonWeb.
Libraries that want to customize their OpenURL targets with links only
to databases or journals to which the library subscribes can use Gold Rush
to accomplish this.
WilsonWeb’s WilsonLink, powered by the ExLibris SFX software, opens a
pre-set menu-based selection of target choices. Wilson will continue to
offer this WilsonLink menu-based option to all WilsonWeb customers at no
charge. The Gold Rush service is available to all WilsonWeb
subscribers for an annual fee. WilsonWeb will also continue to offer the
current WilsonLink service as always, with no additional charge.
The Gold Rush link resolver is an OpenURL compliant reference-linking
tool that is hosted and maintained by the Colorado Alliance of Research
Libraries, eliminating the need for a WilsonWeb customer to purchase and
maintain a link resolver server in the library. Gold Rush Linker offers a
customizable selection of over 900 targets encompassing over 50,000 unique
journal titles. The WilsonWeb/Gold Rush administrator can customize the
target selection precisely as desired.
H.W. Wilson and the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries are working
together to provide this new enhanced OpenURL customization option for WilsonWeb subscribers.
