Logins

Number of sessions (logins) initiated by the login process and maintained until the patron logs out, or the session expires.

Searches

The number of single searches sent to the server. On the session usage report, the number of distinct searches is displayed, no matter what number of databases the search was performed on. This is listed as a Submitted Search. On the database usage report, when a user performed a single search against all his available products, and wants to see which of his products were searched against, one search for each product selected is counted and listed as a Database Search.

Turnaways

The number of times a search attempt fails because the customer’s searching a database exceeded the license limits purchased for that database.

Results

The number of records matching a single search made on a single or multiple number of databases.
Note: The result count is reported only on the search level and not on the database level since there is no way to determine which records belong to which product when more than one product is selected.

Zero Items Found

The number of times a search is sent to the server and returns no results.

Items Retrieved

The number of records downloaded/displayed by the user’s browser. Item’s retrieved is reported on the database level since we can identify the source (database) of each article once it’s been displayed.

Full Text

Numer of items retrieved that are Full Text articles.

PDFs

Number of items retrieved that are PDF format.

Abstracts / Indexes

Number of items retrieved that are abstracts or indexes.

Simple Search

Number of searches sent to the server using the Simple Search screen.

Advanced Search

Number of searches sent to the server using the Advanced Search screen.

Thesaurus Search

Number of searches sent to the server using the Thesaurus Search screen.

Browse Search

Number of searches sent to the server using the Browse Search screen.

Print

Number of times a user printed or initiated a print of a single or multiple number of records.

Save

Number of times a user saved / downloaded a single or multiple number of records to his machine.

Email

Number of times a user emailed a single record or multiple number of records.
