16. User Classes > Access > Restrict Functions
Sometimes a library wishes to restrict or block certain system functions
to some or all of the User Classes it has created. The Restrict
Functions screen enables the administrator to disable up to four
system functions for a User Class, including the following:
-
Print
-
Email
-
Save
-
Search History
First, click on the Access button. Several appropriate buttons will
then appear on the left toolbar, including the Restrict Functions
button. Click Restrict Functions.
You may expect that this screen will primarily be used by administrators
to restrict users from using the Print function. It should be
noted, however, that this application will prevent print functionality
within the WilsonWeb application, but does not disable the browser
(Internet Explorer or Netscape) print-screen functionality. The
administrator can grant and restrict functions by User Class using the
Grant and Restrict buttons. A User Class is given all functions
by default.
To restrict a particular function:
-
Choose the User Class.
-
Select the function that you want to disable from the
drop-down list.
-
Click Restrict.
-
Click Save to confirm.
Remember to assign User Class to a valid access type.
To grant a particular function:
-
Choose the User Class.
-
Select the function that you want to enable from the
list on the right.
-
Click Grant.
-
Click Save to confirm.
Remember to assign User Class to a valid access type.
