21. User Classes > Access > Patron ID Access
This screen enables administrators to assign Patron IDs, provided by the
HW Wilson Access Control system, to administrator-defined User Classes.
These ranges are visible on the screen under the header Patron ID
Ranges Assigned to Customer. By default, a Patron ID from HW Wilson
Access Control system is given to the default group. Once it is assigned
to a different User Group, the Patron ID belongs only to the newly
assigned group.
It is up to the administrator to assign a Patron Address range to an
administrator-defined User Group. This can be done in two ways. The
administrator can either enter a Patron ID range or single Patron IDs, and
a message will be returned to let the administrator know that the action
was a success. Once there are administrator-defined ID ranges assigned to
User Classes, they will be displayed at the bottom of the page under the
header Patron ID Ranges Distributed to User Classes.
First, click on the Access button. Several appropriate buttons will
then appear on the left toolbar, including the Patron ID Access
button. Click Patron ID Access.
Once a Patron ID range is assigned to an administrator-defined group, the
administrator cannot assign any of the included Patron ID ranges to
another administrator-defined group. If the administrator attempts to do
so, a message will be returned that shows that the attempt was
unsuccessful.
To delete a Patron ID range:
-
Choose the appropriate Patron ID range from the select
box after the header Delete Access To Existing Range:
-
Click Delete.
Once a patron ID range is deleted, ownership of that patron ID range
returns the default user group.
