23. InterLibrary Loan (ILL)

Wilson has introduced a service option for customers who want to link to their own InterLibrary Loan form, using OpenURL technology. By clicking on the ILL icon located next to a record, the OpenURL data for a record is downloaded to the customer’s own form. Now it is possible for you to easily access your library’s InterLibrary Loan program directly from the WilsonWeb interface. On the ILL screen the administrator can choose how this feature should work within the institution.

First, click on the Access button. Several appropriate buttons will then appear on the left toolbar.

Click ILL.

Enter the URL for your InterLibrary Loan Form.

Mark next to which record the ILL icon will appear. The choices include:

Next to every article citation without full text on WilsonWeb
Next to every article citation with full text on WilsonWeb
Next to every book citation

Customizing the InterLibrary Loan icon:

1. Browse your computer to locate the graphic, open, and its location will then appear in the Upload Custom Link Menu Icon: box.

2. Next, type in any new text in the Set Custom Link Menu Icon Label: box.

3. (Required) Type in new text in the Set Custom Link Menu Icon Alt Text: box. This is for the tool tip that will appear for the icon next to each record.

4. Click Save if your changes are acceptable.

Note: The standard ILL icon is 16 x 16 pixels. Larger customized icons may be used; however, the administrator is encourage to test larger icons to make certain that they do not interfere with the integrity of the interface design.

Deleting the Customized Icon:
Click the Delete Custom Icon button.

Returning to Default Settings:
Click the Reset to default settings button.
