Summary of Search Features
Below are some of the strategies and tools you can use to
search effectively with WilsonWeb:
Strategies

SearchPlus — Qualify search requests by entering several
terms and selecting from available categories.

Using Your Search History — Reuse previous searches that
are listed in your search history.

Searching in a Specific Field — Search for a term by
category or type.

Searching in All Free-Text Fields — Search for terms in
all of the "free-text" fields (those that have not been individually
indexed) in the database(s) you are using. Fields usually searched as a
default are: title, augmented title, author, source, abstract,
descriptors. Note that these vary by database.

Searching Multiple Databases — Search several databases
simultaneously to make your search comprehensive.
Tools

Browse — Alphabetical lists of terms grouped by specific
fields in the database(s) you are using.

Limit Fields — Specially indexed fields that you can use
to focus your search.

Operators — Special terms that you can use to combine
search terms.

Truncation and Wildcards — Character substitutes that you
can use to retrieve variant spellings or singular and plural versions of a
term.
