Wilwin displays all citations, using little pictures instead of letters (Wingdings font).
How do I change the font, so that I can read the citations.

The font can be changed by using the Wilwin Reconfiguration utility. This utility can be found in the Wilwin program group in Windows 3.x or in the Start Menu, Programs, Wilwin folder in Windows 95/NT.

1. Select Reconfiguration
2. Click on Record Display Options
3. Click on Font
4. Choose Courier-LD (size) 9 - STANDARD FONT
5. Click on OK
6. Click on OK, in the Record Display Options window
7. Click Save

The error "No database found" displays.

This can occur because:

1. The disk you received is in a different format than our search software. We currently have two formats:

A. DOS/ MAC: This disk has a clear center and is not compatible with WilsonDisc for Windows application.

B. WINDOWS: This disk has a Black Center, with an ERL compliant Label. This disk is not compatible with Wilson`s DOS or Mac applications.

How do you specify the CD-ROM drive(s) that have Wilson for Windows CDs,
so that the program does not poll every drive on my CD changer or network?

Add a space and the drive letter followed by a colon after WILWIN.EXE on the command line. For example: If you have our CD on drive G: and the WILWIN software is on drive C:, the command line would be C:\WILWIN\WILWIN.EXE G:

If you have multiple CDs just add them to the end of the command line, with each one separated by a space. For example: If you have our CDs on drives G:, H:, I:, J: and the WILWIN software is on drive C:, the command line would be C:\WILWIN\WILWIN.EXE G: H: I: J: .

Can't map WilsonDisc for Windows using SCINET 2000.

SCINET 2000 is a CD-ROM management hardware/software solution that is used by many libraries. In it`s default setup, Wilson`s DOS, MAC and Windows CD databases cannot be used.

The following is the procedure that will allow a user, who has admin rights to their network and SCINET, to configure SCINET for our CDs:

Changing SCINET configuration for Wilson CDs

1. Down the CD server.
2. Drop to CD Manager Server
3. Choose the second item from the menu, Change Current Configuration. (If you are prompted to enter the license number, back out to menu)
4. You will be asked to verify the install path and the license number. DO not change these, just accept them.
(If you have the NetWare version, you will be prompted to scan drives.)
5. You will now have a table on your screen, listing all of your CD products. Scroll down to the Wilson CD.
6. The last column contains the Group Volume Name. Blank out the Group Volume name for the Wilson CD.
7. Press F10 to save.
8. Bring the server back up.

At this point you should be able to map directly to the Wilson CD, through Windows or Dynamic Mapping.

If you are still unable to map to the Wilson CDs, you can call SCINET Technical Support at (408) 328-0160 . They are open from 6:30 am - 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
