Joseph Miller
Vice President, Cataloging and General Reference

Joseph Miller was appointed Vice President,
Cataloging and General Reference in December 2006. He began his career
with the company in 1989, serving as a cataloger in Book Review Digest
and most recently as Director of Cataloging Services. He is also the
editor of the Sears List of Subject Headings. He was appointed Director
of Cataloging and General Reference in February 2006.
He is responsible for Book Review Digest, Bibliographic Index, General
Reference (which includes the Reference Shelf series and various
monograph reference works), and the Standard Catalogs department (which
includes the five Standard Catalogs, Essay and General Literature Index,
Short Story Index, and Play Index).
Mr. Miller holds the following degrees: B.A. in English (Carroll
College); M.A. and Ph.D. in English (Princeton University); and M.L.S.
(State University of New York at Albany). He is a member of the American
Library Association (ALCTS).
