WilsonWeb Now Offers Project
COUNTER Statistical Reports
Reference Database Service Meets
Library Needs With Compliance to Growing Industry Standard
New York, New York, October 13th, 2004
WilsonWeb, H.W. Wilson's acclaimed Internet reference database
service, has passed an audit of its usage statistics reports by
Project COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of NeTworked Electronic
Resources), an international initiative designed to facilitate the
recording and exchange of online usage statistics among librarians,
publishers and intermediaries. Standardized database usage
statistics through COUNTER compliancy is an issue of increasing
importance to librarians. In response, H.W. Wilson has made COUNTER
reports standard to the WilsonWeb statistical interface. WilsonWeb
will continue to offer other reports based on the earlier
ICOLC-compliant requirements.
WilsonWeb
statistics reports include Database Usage, Session Usage, Peak
Usage, Journal Usage, IP Usage, and Turnaways. All can be downloaded
as needed, or automatically each week or month.
WilsonWeb brings
libraries more than 50 periodicals research databases—magazine and
journal indexes, abstracts resources, and databases of full text
articles and page images—in art, literature and the humanities,
applied science, biology and agriculture, the social sciences,
general science, law, business, library and information science,
education, and other subject areas. WilsonWeb also delivers noted
biographical sources, covering more than 500,000 individuals in one
of the industry's largest biography databases. For more on WilsonWeb
