New York, New York, October 1, 2009
Wilson's

user access to research in important art-related subjects
such as history, cultural studies, and art education.
Full-text biographical profiles have also been added--rich,

(and growing). New WilsonWeb tools also make using Art
Full Text easier and more productive, including
electronic translation of articles from English into 11
languages, translations of foreign-language articles into
English, the ReadSpeaker text-to-speech converter, and "My
WilsonWeb" space for storing searches, results, and notes.
Ron Miller, Director of Product Management
said "The recent updates expand our art coverage so
researchers can be confident they have access to insights
from the broadest scope whatever their level of
scholarship."
Art Full Text brings researchers the
complete text of articles cover to cover from more than 250
important art periodicals, and abstracts and indexing of
articles from more than 500. The database encompasses of the
gamut of art specialties--architecture to video, folk art to
photography. International coverage includes the most
important English-language periodicals worldwide, plus
others published in French, Italian, German, Japanese,
Spanish, Dutch, and Swedish. Besides articles, Art Full Text
indexes reproductions of works of art that appear in the
periodicals covered. Content stretches back over 25 years.
Art Full Text is one of five acclaimed
resources that make up the Wilson Art Suite of
databases--the others being the noted art image databases
Art Museum Image Gallery and Cinema Image Gallery, the
renowned architectural reference Avery Index to
Architectural Periodicals, and the retrospective index Art
Index Retrospective: 1929-1984.
Art Abstracts and Art Index (abstract and
index-only versions of Art Full Text) will also cover the 63
new journals. For more on Art Full Text, or to arrange a
