WilsonWeb's Art Full Text Expands
New Full-Text Content, Biographies, and New Search Tools For Acclaimed Art Resource

Wilson's lauded Art Full Text database now features coverage of 63 additional journals (46 of them in full text), expanding user access to research in important art-related subjects such as history, cultural studies, and art education. Full-text biographical profiles have also been added--rich, narrative life stories of more than 6,000 important artists (and growing). New WilsonWeb tools also make using Art Full Text easier and more productive, including electronic translation of articles from English into 11 languages, translations of foreign-language articles into English, the ReadSpeaker text-to-speech converter, and "My WilsonWeb" space for storing searches, results, and notes.

Art Full Text brings researchers the complete text of articles cover to cover from more than 250 important art periodicals, and abstracts and indexing of articles from more than 500. The database encompasses of the gamut of art specialties--architecture to video, folk art to photography. International coverage includes the most important English-language periodicals worldwide, plus others published in French, Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish, Dutch, and Swedish. Besides articles, Art Full Text indexes reproductions of works of art that appear in the periodicals covered. Content stretches back over 25 years.

Art Full Text is one of five acclaimed resources that make up the Wilson Art Suite of databases--the others being the noted art image databases Art Museum Image Gallery and Cinema Image Gallery, the renowned architectural reference Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, and the retrospective index Art Index Retrospective: 1929-1984.
