Wilson's Bibliographic Index becomes Bibliographic Index Plus
Reference Classic Now Offers Full-Text Bibliographies, Expanded Coverage on WilsonWeb

New York, New York, October 4th, 2004
Bibliographic Index, an acclaimed reference for over 60 years, has now become Bibliographic Index Plus, featuring indexing of more than 350,000 bibliographies across a broad range of disciplines, plus nearly 100,000 full text bibliographies (and growing). Turn to this powerful search tool for research in all subject areas, with expert indexing of bibliographies published in English, German, Dutch, and the Scandinavian, Slavic, and Romance languages (including some 2,300 bibliographies published in Spanish).

The database draws its content from ongoing coverage of more than 2,800 periodicals and 5,000 books annually. Bibliographic essays, literature reviews, serial bibliographies and bibliographies appearing as regular features are among the resources cited. Broad coverage of the humanities and social sciences, as well as science and technology, makes Bibliographic Index Plus the perfect research tool for a wide range of curricula.

Its intuitive, fast, precise searching makes book and periodical collections more accessible and valuable. Search by up-to-date subject headings—based on Library of Congress Subject Headings—or by keyword, source publication, author, date, and an abundance of other handy options.

The WilsonWeb library holdings indicator, linked to the library's OPAC, lets users know if they'll find cited sources on their library's shelves. When the article is unavailable, special WilsonLink SFX-powered database-linking software offers a supplemental search of other open-URL compliant resources in the library. Administrators can also add custom links on WilsonWeb, directing users to document delivery or interlibrary loan options.

Full-text bibliographies from as far back as 1994 are included. Retrospective content as far back as 1984 ensures thorough searching, and daily additions continuously bring users new sources.

American Reference Books Annual called Bibliographic Index "a standard resource of recognized excellence and depth." Bibliographic Index Plus is available exclusively on WilsonWeb. Free 30-day trials are available. For more information, visit www.hwwilson.com.
