Reference Shelf Volume Looks at New Challenges to
Copyright
New
York, New York, November 3rd, 2003
Intellectual
Property, new in the H.W. Wilson Reference Shelf book series,
explores the concept of intellectual property, how people are affected by IP
laws, and what's being done to protect ideas shared via various kinds of
media, including the Internet. From the distinctions between copyrights,
trademarks, and patents; to the problem of plagiarism; to the gross violations
of copyright made easy online, this is a thorough exploration.
Intellectual
Property
is the fifth of six books in The
Reference Shelf 2003 series. Four others, The
Muslim World, The American
Family, Warfare in the 21st
Century, and Urban Planning,
were published earlier in 2003. The final volume in the Reference Shelf 2003, Representative
American Speeches 2002-2003, will be published in December.
Libraries that order the complete set receive a substantial discount.
Each book in The Reference Shelf series offers a complete exploration of a
current topic of importance in modern society, in a compilation of some 25
notable articles from respected publications, plus abstracts of 20 to 30
additional articles and a bibliography of other sources. Reference Shelf
volumes provide a well-rounded, non-biased overview for researchers and
general readers. A new six-book set will be published in 2004, starting with
Homeland
Security, in February.
Review copies of Reference Shelf volumes are available for members of the
press.
