Ten Years of Coverage Added to Index to Legal
Periodicals Retrospective
New York, New York, January 19th, 2005
With the addition of ten years more retrospective coverage in Spring
2006, Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective will allow users
to search periodicals as far back as 1908, H.W. Wilson today announced.
Based on the classic print reference Index to Legal Periodicals &
Books, this is the space-saving online equivalent of 38 ILP print
cumulations. The database makes more than 70 years of periodicals
research readily available for educators, students, law professionals
and others, with cover-to-cover indexing of publications 1908 through
1981.
Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective covers
over 750 noted publications from the U.S., Canada, Great Britain,
Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Cover-to-cover indexing includes
book reviews and case citations. In addition to periodicals, annual
surveys of the laws of a jurisdiction, annual surveys of the federal
courts, yearbooks, and annual reviews of the work in a given field are
also indexed.
Subject terms (which may have changed over the years)
and personal and corporate names have been standardized, ensuring
retrieval of all records on a given subject. Original subject headings
have been retained as "Historical Subjects"—preserving the full value of
the data as a historical source, and providing insight into the way
issues of the day were framed. Both current and historical headings are
searchable.
Seamless links to full-text articles on a subscriber's
other open-URL compliant databases (including HeinOnline), plus library
holdings messages and document-delivery links make finding the actual
articles easy. Index to Legal Periodicals Retrospective can also be
searched simultaneously with the contemporary periodicals database
Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text, for a century of law research
at a keystroke.
Index to
Legal Periodicals Retrospective is available exclusively on
