WilsonWeb
Databases Now Feature Automatic Link to Scirus Search
New York, New York, February 2, 2005
Scirus, a major science-specific web search engine, now joins the
multitude of sources accessible via
WilsonWeb, H.W. Wilson today announced. With WilsonWeb's
WilsonLink feature, customers can click from article citations to an
automatic Scirus search of the author's name covering over 167
million science-specific web pages-finding additional articles by
the author, biographical or contact data, and related information.
The Scirus search filters out non-scientific sites, locating
peer-reviewed articles (including PDF and PostScript files often
invisible to other search engines), and tapping the world's largest
databases of scientific, technical and medical journals, including
access-controlled sites that other search engines don't index.
Scirus also goes deeper than the first two levels
of a web site, retrieving more relevant information than the typical
web search. It was recognized by the Search Engine Watch Awards as
"Best Specialty Search Engine" in 2001 and 2002. More information on
Scirus is available at
www.scirus.com.
The new Scirus link is especially practical for
users of WilsonWeb science databases: the new
Science Full Text Select, and
Applied Science & Technology Full Text,
General Science Full Text,
Biological & Agricultural Index Plus,
OmniFile and others. (The new Science Full Text Select-a 100%
full-text database-delivers articles cover to cover from 320 select
periodicals.)
Free 30-day WilsonWeb trials are available to
libraries and members of the working press. For more on WilsonWeb
