H.W. Wilson's "WIN" Editorial System Honored
by Association for Information and Image Management
New York, New York, June 13, 2005
H.W. Wilson's innovative WIN editorial production software has
been honored by the Association for Information and Image
Management (AIIM) with a "Best Practices" Industry Award. WIN
(Wilson Information Network) is the electronic document imaging
and workflow solution H.W. Wilson implemented in 2001 to automate
and streamline its periodicals indexing, abstracting, and
cataloging processes. It was developed with the help of Imaging
Solutions, Inc.
H.W. Wilson publishes more than 60 periodical
databases (indexes, abstracts, and full text resources), from the
long-popular Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature to new titles
such as Book Review Digest Plus and the Wilson Retrospective
Collection.
WIN helps Wilson distribute periodical content
to staff members quickly and accurately, monitor and control the
indexing, abstracting, and cataloging processes, and then collect
all of the work from multiple parties to create the Wilson
periodical databases. The software allows the Wilson staff to
handle an ever-increasing amount of information while maintaining
the focus on editorial integrity and quality of workmanship that
has earned the Wilson reputation.
AIIM presented the "Best Practices" award to
Imaging Solutions and H.W. Wilson at a dinner celebration at the
recent AIIM 2005 Conference & Exhibition.
