Resource Integration Through Gold Rush

York, New York, June 17, 2005
The H.W. Wilson Company and the Colorado Alliance of Research
Libraries have announced an agreement to bring new enhanced OpenURL customization options to WilsonWeb. All WilsonWeb customers
subscribing to the Alliance's Gold Rush Complete service can
seamlessly link to the Gold Rush link resolver with WilsonWeb.
The Gold Rush link resolver is an OpenURL
compliant reference-linking tool that is hosted and maintained by
the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries, eliminating the need
for a WilsonWeb customer to purchase and maintain a link resolver
server in the library. Gold Rush Linker offers a customizable
selection of over 900 targets encompassing over 50,000 unique
journal titles. The WilsonWeb/Gold Rush administrator can
customize the target selection precisely as desired.
With the release of the new WilsonWeb, Wilson
was one of the first major database vendors to integrate an OpenURL link resolver within their database product, offering this
service at no additional charge to all WilsonWeb customers.
WilsonWeb's WilsonLink, powered by the ExLibris SFX
software, opens a pre-set menu-based selection of targets.
Wilson will continue to offer this WilsonLink menu-based option to
all WilsonWeb customers at no charge.
The Gold Rush service is available to all
WilsonWeb subscribers for an annual fee. WilsonWeb will also
continue to offer the current WilsonLink service as always, with
no additional charge.
"OpenURL integration of database resources is
an integral part of research in libraries," comments Ron Miller, H.W. Wilson Director of Product Management. "With our new Gold
Rush option, we're glad to offer new options that make this
essential facet of library research more convenient than ever."
