About the Author – Caroline Feller Bauer

Bauer, a leading educator, lecturer, author, and authority on children’s
literature. "What I do," explains Dr. Bauer, "is run around
speaking to librarians, teachers, and parents on how to get children and
books together." To this end, she has conducted her lively, imaginative
seminars in 50 states and 28 countries. In 1968, Dr. Bauer was the first
woman to receive the Ersted Award for distinguished teaching and was given
the Dorothy McKenzie Award in 1986 for her contribution to children’s
literature.
