Part 1 of Facts about Retiring
in the United States delivers guidance in four major areas: housing,
health care, and financial and legal concerns. Part 2,
"State-by-State Retirement Housing Options," presents
alternatives on a state-by-state basis, including facts about climate,
cost of living, taxes, major transportation, and cultural attractions.
Lists of elder hostels and other travel-related agencies, retirement
counselors and consultants, and additional resources and organizations are
listed in part 3. The planning tools and forms in the final section
include "Five Wishes" (a document from the Commission on Aging
with Dignity) and "Checklist for Choosing an Assisted Living
Community." A glossary, bibliography, and index complete the work.
