Review from: American
Reference Books Annual 2006
This is a collection of articles, written mostly by
journalists, previously published in newspapers and magazines. The
articles are organized into six sections: “Overview of Free Trade and
NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement)”; “NAFTA's Effects on Industry
and Trade”; “FTAs with Latin American”; “FTAs Around the World”; “The
Broader Impact of FTAs”; and the “Future of FTAs and NAFTA.” Both the pros
and cons of free trade opinions may be found in every section, although
the thrust of the collection favors free trade. Introductions by the
editor in each section are clear and helpful and the articles are easy to
read. In addition to these articles, the volume includes a select
bibliography of books, Websites of proponents and opponents of free trade,
and an additional number of annotated periodical articles and abstracts. |
