Review from: Choice,
October 2003
Currently available directly
through WilsonWeb, BIOAG Plus provides access to periodical
literature related to biology and agriculture. It indexes roughly 310
serial titles, 67 of which were available in full text at time of review.
WilsonWeb also supports SFX (Open URL server from Ex Libris), which can
provide links to full text well beyond the 67 in the database. The search
interface…offers advanced as well as basic search. Some users may prefer
the regular version of BIOAG through other services such as
FirstSearch. The only database comparable to BIOAG Plus in terms of
content is AGRICOLA, published by the National Library of
Agriculture, which covers 881 titles but does not provide full text….Those
familiar with WilsonWeb will want this version, but readers familiar with
FirstSearch will prefer it. Libraries supporting biology and agriculture
will want both AGRICOLA and BIOAG.
Summing Up: Recommended. General and academic users. |
