Review from: Library Journal,

Fiction Catalog is the electronic version of the
well-known print reference work. Like the print version, it provides
publication information and excerpted reviews of selected works of
English-language fiction for adults.
Fiction Catalog uses the same WilsonWeb interface
employed by works such as Book Review Digest, Reader’s Guide
Retrospective, and Current Biography Illustrated. WilsonWeb
makes it easy to search some or all of these databases simultaneously….
The content of Fiction Catalog is, of course,
sound, with more than 6,000 entries that stretch as far back as the 1940s.
It is especially nice in the electronic version to have not only review
excerpts from Book Review Digest but also, for some recently
published works, full text or a link to full text. The electronic version
also allows more flexible keyword searching than the printed version,
which is limited to strict author, title, and subject searches….
Librarians and frequent users will…value the database
for its content and its expanded searchability. |
